V. The Just One, Or Righteous.
- Zechariah 9:9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion;
shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh
unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and
riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an
ass.
- Jeremiah 23:5 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD,
that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King
shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and
justice in the earth.
- Isaiah 41:2 Who raised up the righteous man from the
east, called him to his foot, gave the nations before him,
and made him rule over kings? he gave them as the dust to
his sword, and as driven stubble to his bow.
- Psalms 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous:
but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.
- Psalms 34:21 Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that
hate the righteous shall be desolate.
- Luke 1:17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and
power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the
children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to
make ready a people prepared for the Lord.
- Matthew 27:19 When he was set down on the judgment
seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to
do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this
day in a dream because of him.
- Matthew 27:20 But the chief priests and elders
persuaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas, and
destroy Jesus.
- Matthew 27:21 The governor answered and said unto them,
Whether of the twain will ye that I release unto you? They
said, Barabbas.
- Matthew 27:22 Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do
then with Jesus which is called Christ? They all say unto
him, Let him be crucified.
- Matthew 27:23 And the governor said, Why, what evil
hath he done? But they cried out the more, saying, Let him
be crucified.
- Matthew 27:24 When Pilate saw that he could prevail
nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water,
and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am
innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to
it.
- Luke 23:47 Now when the centurion saw what was done, he
glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous
man.
- Acts 3:14 But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and
desired a murderer to be granted unto you;
- Acts 7:52 Which of the prophets have not your fathers
persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of
the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the
betrayers and murderers:
- Acts 22:14 And he said, The God of our fathers hath
chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his will, and see
that Just One, and shouldest hear the voice of his
mouth.
- 1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I
unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an
advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
- 1 John 2:29 If ye know that he is righteous, ye know
that every one that doeth righteousness is born of
him.
- James 5:6 Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he
doth not resist you.
The First Series Describes Christ in his human nature, as
the promised Seed of the Woman, in the grand charter of our
Redemption, Gen. 3:15; and his pedigree, sufferings, and
glory in his successive manifestations of himself until the
end of the world.
The Second Series describes His Character and offices,
human and divine.
